If you suddenly break a tooth or have a toothache, it can be alarming. If you don’t currently have a dentist in the Royal Palm Beach area, you might wonder who will help you on such short notice.
We are here when you need us most.
If you experience a dental emergency, contact us as soon as possible. Our compassionate and professional team will help you feel comfortable and healthy again. Many of our new patients first visited our dental office with an emergency and became regular patients because of the outstanding care they received during their time of need.
Common Dental Emergencies
Sometimes dental emergencies happen fast. You bite into something, and part of a tooth breaks off. Or you might have a slow ache that gradually worsens each day. We reserve time in our schedule to treat dental emergencies fast – usually on the same day.
Here are some of the most common dental emergencies we treat:
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Knocked-out teeth
- A lost or damaged filling, crown, or bridge
- Broken dentures
- Sores on the gums or inside the mouth
- Swelling and pain
- Sudden sensitivity
It can be tempting to put off treatment because you hope it will improve on its own. The truth is, however, that dental pain rarely resolves on its own and actually worsens over time. Most dental conditions are asymptomatic (without noticeable signs or symptoms) until they are quite well advanced, and a call to our office may mean the difference between saving and losing your tooth.
What to Expect at Your Emergency Appointment
You never have to worry about being treated like an inconvenience just because you require an emergency appointment. Our entire team enjoys dentistry because they like taking care of people and helping them have excellent oral health. You will always feel welcome.
Emergency appointments are designed to find and treat the source of your discomfort. To aid Dr. Steven Bussell in diagnosing your condition and potential treatment options, we will begin with an x-ray of the area.
Dr. Bussell will then identify your condition and present all of your treatment options to you. We believe that having a choice is important.
In many cases, we will provide complete treatment at your emergency appointment – root canals and extractions can be performed quickly to eliminate pain. If you need a crown, bridge, or dental implant, we will invite you back to complete treatment. Either way, you will leave Affordable Dental Center of Wellington with answers about your health and a plan for the future of your smile.
